This lovely pinch pot features delicate thumb and finger prints which reveal the potter’s hand. The unique surface was created in the pit firing process, an ancient technique dating back nearly 30,000 years. This piece is NOT food safe or water tight, however it can be used to store spices.
Pit firing is typically done in a hole in the ground where pots are placed and then burned. This atmospheric process creates truly one of a kind effects, no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
